I’m interviewing Baltimore’s Dan Deacon for Smile Politely. If you haven’t been introduced to Deacon’s bastard techno yet — his live show was one of the showstoppers of this summer’s PItchfork Fest — then be aware that he’s playing in Urbana at the Canopy Club on Thursday, Sept. 18. I know it’s a work night and all that, but if you’re even remotely a fan of electronic fuckery then you’re not going to want to miss this show. His music is totally its own thing. I expect P-Town to represent.
